An amazing opportunity for any spring semester student or aspiring filmmaker in the Austin area interested in any of the following areas: story development, editing or production.
BrightStar is led by Senior Producer Tara Veneruso, who has served as consultant and editor for Academy Award® winning film directors and has produced & directed films fully funded by Hollywood top film studios.
As a Post-Production Intern on a feature documentary, you will help the segment producers, director, and assist in typical office operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn what is required for a professional film to undergo post-production, distribution strategy & release.
Requirements:
Commit to at least 15 hours per week (hours based around your availability)
MUST be able to work in a team. Communication is an essential skill we’re seeking in an intern
Have an excitement to learn and a strong desire to work in the entertainment industry
Additionally, candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and able to learn quickly
Candidates must be able to travel to East Austin and own a fully functioning laptop (Mac preferred)
Responsibilities include:
Assist with general office tasks and functions
Assist director with special projects
Assist with story research
Finding, organizing, and digitizing legal release forms, documents, and necessary legal work
Assist editors in the post-production workflow
Assist with distribution deliverables
Assist in the planning of upcoming shoots
Film Database entry
Transcribing interviews for our Story Department to use in order to create the stories in the film
Additionally, if you are interested in certain areas such as editing or writing, there is the opportunity to work closely with these departments over time
The internship is unpaid and offers college credit if accepted by your university.
